Tights: Catherines
Boots: Steve Madden
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Wendy Baker, gift from the artist
Bracelet: Vintage

Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I adore these Sweetheart faux wrap dresses from Leota...if only they were 1-2 inches longer...they'd be perfect. I've worn this style of dress in one size smaller & this one fits me so much better... see me & pink, neon 80s, & pink python. Instead of the usual slippery fabric, this has a textured crepe feel...the sweetheart neckline is just so flattering & is a marvelous décolletage frame without being scandalous. Fantastic fit & I ended up falling in love with this cutsie print. I'll buy this one if I see it around.
This dress would be fun to go overboard with for Valentine's Day...with a heart cardigan & tights...adorable.
Double wing eyeliner in black & pink...
My make-up with this outfit included...Kat von D Ink Liner in Trooper; Urban Decay liquid liner in Woodstock; Pink Pearl, Golden Nugget, & Sin City eyeshadow by Too Faced; Big Bang lipstick by UD; Quince lipstick from Bite Beauty; You're A Pisa Work nail polish from OPI; & Colors by Llarowe nail polish in Summer Lovin'.
I have so many pairs of shoes with silver buckles or I brought a pair to the new house that I thought I might wear soon-ish to gold rub-n-buff much better! They are sitting on top of a distressed kitchen cabinet door...that is pretty much all I've been doing for months now...painting these doors. I haven't really shared what I've been doing at the house here since I don't wear pretty clothes there...but I plan on doing before & after blog posts at some point...when there is an actual after.
Savers 50% off sale...always so much fun! My basket full of everything that caught my eye vs. after I've tried it all on & eliminated...I was sad these super pointy Christian Siriano for Target shoes were a size 11 & too big to stay on my feet...I wore this style of shoe a lot in the 80s. This orange/red/yellow/black sequined cardigan was my favorite find of the day...
Shoes! The ones with the cut-outs on the left are never worn Dr. Martens...they will look stupendous with colorful printed socks peeking through.
I wore this dress on another day to have a nibble of breakfast with Kate & Jason at Graze...I had hash browns covered in caramelized onions & cheese...they were the best hash browns I've ever put in my mouth...yum! And look at that cute gingerbread barn...with sheep!
Then we went to the holiday edition of Kate's wine tasting group, Wasted, at Square Wine. I made two different versions of candied nuts...but only one was edible...sweet & savory spiced nuts...I hope I wrote down the spices I used...I think it was cinnamon, paprika, cloves, & garam masala. So much delightful wine! That last photo is inside the new Gail Ambrosius Chocolates...her sea salt caramels are outrageously delicious.

Dead Man's Carnival: Tom Waits Tribute Show

Dress: Velvetina Midi Lace-up Velvet Dress in Burgundy Wine by Holy Clothing (size 4x)
Tights: Catherines
Boots: Dr. Martens
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Vintage 90s
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Super embarrassing confession...I've had this gorgeous dress for ~10 years & this was my first time wearing it. It may have been laying around for longer...the tags were still attached. I used to wear a lot of Holy Clothing in the early 2000s. I had several elaborately embroidered heavy skirts that I wore all the time...they held up for years. Their stuff is well made in India & I unearthed a few summer dresses as well that I will hopefully get around to wearing when the weather gets warmer.
The fit on this non-stretch velvet dress was spot on, with the exception of the sleeves being slightly long.
Kate said I looked like I was going to a Ren faire, but is that a bad thing? I was channeling my late 90s-early 00s goth chick vibe...perhaps the necklace was a bit much?
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX Faux Blacks eyeliner in Oxblood, Crème Brûlée & Haute Chocolate eyeshadow by Too Faced, Urban Decay eyeshadow in Gash, Majella lipstick from Nars, & Elegance nail polish by Colors by Llarowe.
I wore this outfit to spend an evening with Kate. First we went to wine tasting at Square...where there were delicious dried blood pretty...
Then we munched on some frites & sipped cocktails at Merchant. I don't remember what the girlie was doing here...but I liked her Kate explains it all face.
Then...on to The Majestic to see Dead Man's Carnival...but first...the girlie had to go back to Merchant to retrieve my coat. We could have sat in the front row, but we didn't....what?! We decided on a bit further back because it was higher & easier to take in the entire stage.
We'd seen Milwaukee's Dead Man's Carnival before...but this time around they were doing a tribute to Tom Waits in honor of the 30th anniversary of "Franks Wild Years". Live music, circus, freak show, burlesque, & a Tom Waits puppet.
A man who blew bubbles with his pet tarantula in his mouth...girlies in pasties walking on broken glass & sword swallowing...a totally charming evening.

Have You Ever Had Fun Wearing A Name Tag?

Dress: Floral Jacquard Dress in Teal by Julian Taylor (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Avenue
Leggings: Torrid
Boots: Steve Madden
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: former Etsy shop
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I loved the teal color in this jacquard fit & flare dress...& the way it went with my teal & black plaid leggings that you can barely see in these to make them bigger & you can see slightly better. Great flare in this dress, but a tad too short for me without leggings to cover up...the fabric is a nice thick weight for colder months & the pattern is gorgeous. Stupid exposed back zipper...some day this trend will die.
I still can't believe I found these boots buried in my piles of stuff last the box...never worn. The worst part of that? I don't even remember buying them. But! They are my favorite black boots now & I wear them all the time.
Teal, Red, & Black...I like this color combo...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Deep End; UD eyeshadow in Amp, Demo, & Angelfire; Russian Red lipstick by MAC; & An Affair in Red Square nail polish from OPI.
I wore this dress to attend Kate's work Christmas party...where the food wasn't great, but they made a passable Moscow Mule. I was wearing a name tag...have you ever had fun wearing a name tag? Then we went out to eat at Wah Kee...where the food was better & I was envious of Kate's soup.

Pattern Mixing Forever

Skirt: Carnaby Skirt in French Quarter by Effie's Heart (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Croft & Barrow (size 3x), thrifted
Shoes: Clarks, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: former Etsy shop
Bracelets: Vintage Bakelite
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Effie's Heart has really become one of my favorite if you couldn't tell. I'm grateful that GB carries it, because they have hardly any plus size garments on their site...I hope they change that. These Carnaby skirts are cute, have just the right amount of fabric to twirl, & are a dream to wear. The wide elastic waist never rolls on me, the length is perfect, & there are pockets. I own this skirt in a scalloped print & hot air balloons. This Parisian print was fun for a wear, but not something I felt the need to own.
I wore this outfit to work & as usual...was trying to throw something on my body in order to leave the house. GB is so great for that...I just wear whatever they send me & don't have to think about it...however, this was a I needed to find a top. My go to with these Carnaby skirts has been a sweater...but I wanted some pattern mixing, so I tried this buttoned up cardigan & I kinda love it.
I was going to search for some navy shoes (my closet situation is...nothing has a place & could be anywhere), but these Clarks we picked up at a thrift store in Milwaukee were right there. I fear my outfits will be much less interesting once I have a huge tidy space for everything.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX Faux Blacks eyeliner in Oxblood; Alter, Supersonic, & Paralyzed eyeshadow from Urban Decay; Sugarpill eyeshadow in Flamepoint; Toast & Apricot lipstick by Bite Beauty; & OPI nail polish in Down to My Last Penny.
In addition to work, I wore this outfit to use my $20 off at Sephora (end of year thank you) & to buy yummy veggies at the farmers' market with Kate.

I only bought two things at Sephora...Anastasia's Prism palette & a limited edition lipstick from Bite. I was so excited to get a Kat von D reward before they ran out...

Saturday Market & Wine

Dress: Flare 3/4 Sleeve Dress with Keyhole Details in Black by Julian Taylor (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Aerosoles, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Over The Top, gift from Kate
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
What a marvelous little black dress...the bell sleeves, the keyhole cutouts, the fit & flare silhouette, & the thick textured fabric...I fell in love with it all. I felt extra sexy wearing this dress...then I realized when we were taking photographs...the shoulders at the sleeves refused to behave...they just wouldn't lay down no matter what we did. Also, pointless back that just me? I haven't seen anyone else have this shoulder perhaps I received a poorly sewn one. Otherwise, it was a darling dress.
We took advantage of this cold Saturday to snap pictures outside our gorgeous capitol building...less people.
This neckline wasn't calling out for a necklace...however, Kate bought me this beautiful necklace several years back & the length & delicateness (for me!) of it added some color without hiding the keyholes...& gave me an excuse to wear my new green Grinch polish.
My make-up with this outfit included...Delinquent eyeliner from Urban Decay; UD eyeshadow in Druggie, Misdemeanor, & Goldmine; Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Luxe; Ultraviolet Cosmic Metals lipstick by NYX; & Mean Mr. Grinch nail polish from Colors by Llarowe.
I wore this dress to get my haircut on Friday afternoon, then the next day with farmers' market, peruse the fair trade holiday festival, & sip bubbles.

Dress: Varo Dress in Houndstooth by Effie's Heart (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Avenue
Leggings: Torrid
Boots: Fluevogs
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I was expecting this to be the typical black & white houndstooth dress, however, when it appeared pink to me...such a light shade that I thought perhaps it had been washed with a red garment. After consulting with The Girls of GB, it appears it was meant to be pink & I paired it with red to bring that out more. Great swingy fit & flare, good length for me, pockets, & the fabric is more substantial than the typical heavy cotton that most EH dresses are made out of...verging on a sweater dress. The only negative for me was the zipper down the front, which I'm personally not a fan of.
The dress appears most pink in photos when the cardigan is off, so much for the red helping with that...
Why do I like this dress so much more without the cardigan? Is the cardigan too long? Too bulky?
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Jet Black & Oxblood, Sugarpill eyeshadow in Love +, NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals, Russian Red lipstick by MAC, & Ruby Pumps nail polish from China Glaze.
I wore this dress to attend our realtor's Christmas party at the tree farm with Angie & Toby (they recommended Pam to us). They cut their own tree down, but I chose to get a wreath instead since neither of our houses are homes with room for a tree this year. Angie & Toby neglected to mention to me that we'd be having our photo taken with Santa...they kindly let me join in their family photo since David was out of town...& a week or so later...we got a Christmas card from Pam with our picture on it...Santa! Also...the duck mobile! This is the third car this couple has covered in rubber duckies & I hadn't seen the latest model yet. It turns out Pam sold them their house too.
I also wore this dress to take the dogs to the park to sniff & chase...& pick Kate up from work during this glorious sunset. I *think* I may have worn it to have dinner at Angie & Toby's? I can't remember...but, cat in a bag! David came home from California with suitcases loaded with Meyer lemons & mandarins from his grandma's trees...heavenly. Some mosaic steps next to where we took outfit photos...I took this because someone mosaic-ed the steps & foundation of our new house...very poorly...this is how it looks properly done. mosaic at the coffeehouse.
